Job Description

As a Cybersecurity Information Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing IA and cybersecurity programs and policies. Our work depends on a Cybersecurity Information Assurance Manager joining our team to support mission operations at USSOCOM by ensuring that networks, systems, and devices are properly documented and managed from a security perspective.

HOW AN INFORMATION ASSURANCE MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manages IA-related IT support activities to enable SOCOM to support Combatant Commands (CCMDs) Web Operations.

  • Catalogs and assesses security controls in mission-employed remote and cloud environments.

  • Conducts IA program/system security status assessments and supports the development of IA policy and procedures.

  • Provides security planning for the system development lifecycle and supports security documentation.

  • Provides technical guidance to users on all mission-employed tools and capabilities to effectively mitigate IA risks.

  • Conducts qualitative/quantitative risk assessments.

  • Supports and leads the development of assessment and authorization documents and artifacts.

  • Tracks organizational IA compliance and ensures remediation needs are communicated and completed.

  • Develops and/or implements corrective courses of action for findings identified during assessments.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; significant experience may be accepted in lieu.

  • Experience: 3+ years' experience. Thorough understanding and practical expertise with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework. Experience validating NIST 800-171 Security Controls; CNSSI 1253 Security Controls and Overlays.

  • Security clearance level: Active TS/SCI eligibility required.

  • Skills and abilities: Broad knowledge of social media related COTS and Open-Source Software (OSS) tools. Understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud, as well as data, application, and networking technologies. Ability to inspect continuous monitoring results to confirm risk is within acceptable limits.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
