Job Description

GDIT has an exciting opportunity to support the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine (SAG-U) as a member of our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program supporting U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s (USAREUR-AF) mission in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The Network Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and security of various network infrastructures, including NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and other essential systems. This position focuses on hands-on administration, incident response, and implementing network enhancements to core routing, switching, and security services, ensuring the robust and secure operation of mission-critical networks.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Network Administrator, you will be the frontline defender of network availability and performance. Your hands-on expertise will ensure that mission-critical systems remain stable, secure, and responsive, directly enabling SAG-U’s operational readiness and ability to collaborate across the theater.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manage the daily operations, maintenance, and security of routers, switches, and firewalls across multiple network enclaves.
  • Provide Tier III support, serving as an escalation point to resolve advanced network issues impacting the mission.
  • Collaborate with systems and security teams to identify requirements, monitor network traffic, and address security concerns.
  • Implement network enhancements and expansions with a focus on core routing, switching, and network security services.
  • Participate in procurement processes, including design development and the creation of initial bills of materials.
  • Offer technical training and maintain documentation for Help Desk personnel and other departments.
  • Collaborate with vendors for the design and implementation of new network systems.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of experience, Associate’s with 6 years, or Bachelor’s with 4 years in network administration, IT operations, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years supporting DoD network infrastructure design or enterprise architecture planning
  • Technical Skills: Proven ability in managing classified (SIPRNet) and unclassified (NIPRNet) network environments. Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE, Firepower Management Center (FMC), and Cisco Umbrella DNS services.    Strong knowledge of ACLs, Route Maps, ports/protocols, and advanced security implementations.
  • Clearance: Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent written communication and diagramming skills
  • Ability to draft planning documents, architectural justifications, and risk mitigation recommendations
  • Experience working in collaborative IPT environments
  • Familiarity with RMF processes and cyber input to network design

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required: IAT Level II (e.g. Security+ CE), Cisco CCNA
  • Preferred: CCNP, ITIL v4,

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with advanced networking concepts, including URL/Network filtering, Geo-Blocking, and virtualization technologies.
  • Proficiency in developing complex network diagrams and supporting cybersecurity accreditation activities.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $72,250 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
