MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Systems Administrator, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.S. Army Europe and AFRICOM. You will play a crucial role in supplying mission command support.

The candidate will be responsible for installing configuring, and maintaining Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J) servers and clients, to include Agile Client. Specific responsibilities will include the following:

  • Follow documentation provided by the DISA GCCS-J Program Office to properly install and configure GCCS-J v6.x servers to support both COP and I3 functional areas.

  • Configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL 8) operating systems to meet operationally functional and cyber security requirements.

  • Configure COP data communications to facilitate the sharing of COP track and graphical data, to include CST, BCNTRK, and other GCCS-J communications interfaces.

  • Configure GCCS-J track tables to properly display COP track data.

  • Archive/Restore COP track data.

  • Configure GCCS-J I3 applications for end-user access, to include Analyst Workshop Web (AWS), JTAT, JUDDI, and ITSWeb.

  • Install and configure Agile Server to facilitate connections to Agile Client software.

  • Install and configure various COTS/GOTS software packages to include AWX, GUACAMOLE, Gopher-GIS, etc.

  • Install system patches (IAVA's, RHELPTH) to meet operational updates and cyber security compliance.

  • Installs and configures VMWare ESXi servers and clusters to support a GCCS-J virtualized infrastructure.

  • Communicates system problems and deficiencies to the Joint Operational Support Center (JOSC).

  • Coordinates with other site engineers to evaluate interoperability and compatibility issues and execute maintenance plans.

  • Executes Daily System Checklists to validate system functionality and detect system issues as early as possible.

  • Monitors and facilitates the integration and interoperability of U.S. Army Mission Command systems, to include JBC-P/FFT, ADSI, CPCE.

  • Plans and implements interfaces with external systems based on command and user requirements.

  • Forward deploys to provide the full spectrum of C2 system administration, to include RHEL8 operating system configuration and maintenance within VMware ESXI virtualization architectures.

  • Coordinates with external agencies such as the Mission Command Support Center (MCSC) to facilitate tracking and management of JBC-P/FFT devices within the theater Common Operating Picture (COP).


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Systems Administrator must have:

  • Education: Bachelors Degree additional years of experience can be substituted for degree requirement

  • Experience: 3+ years of related experience

  • Technical skills: Must be able to perform at an advanced technical level on all phases of applications systems analysis and implementation activities; Experience supporting GCCS-J COP/I3, GCCS-A, ICSF, or Agile Client required; Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux v6 or later required; Experience integrating and fielding system patches and releases, rebuilding servers & clients in accordance with DoD and PMO guidelines, and investigating and managing computer security incidents required; Red Hat and VMware certification desired; Experience managing VMware ESXi environments, to include capacity management preferred; Experience with fault tolerant systems - designing, developing disaster recovery plans, developing backup procedures, restoration of files/file systems/storage media desired; Experience integrating DoD C2 systems with models & simulations (MOD/SIM) a plus. Experience supporting Radiant Mercury or other Cross Domain Solutions a plus; Must be able to operate independently with little or no supervision.

  • Security clearance level: Top Secret Level Security Clearance Required

  • US citizenship required

  • Certifications: Candidate must obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification within 90 days of hire; Candidate must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Role requirements: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills a must; Experience planning, developing, integrating, and supporting systems and architectures for Army operations/exercises involving Joint and Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence (C4I) systems required.

  • Candidate must be able to meet German TESA requirements.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
