Job Description

GDIT is seeking qualified candidates to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

Qualified candidates will provide integrated solutions supporting concurrent test, training, and operations (CTTO) within the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) mission execution platform and enterprise communications and information technology (IT) environment.

Be a part of the GDIT Team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges! General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Systems Administrator, Senior to support the IRES program in Huntsville, Alabama.

Duties Include: 

  • Manage the day-to-day operation and health of end user device platforms (Windows, macOS, iOS/Android) and associated services such as device management, software delivery, and remote access

  • Administer and optimize tools such as Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, SCCM, JAMF, and other endpoint management platforms for policy enforcement, compliance, and automation

  • Oversee the patching, packaging, and deployment of applications and system updates across the device estate to maintain security and functionality

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex support issues related to user devices, OS performance, and workplace tools. Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in collaboration with Service Desk and Security teams

  • Monitor device compliance, performance, and usage using analytics tools. Generate regular operational reports and recommend improvements where necessary

  • Ensure device platforms are compliant with internal security policies and regulatory requirements. Implement security configurations and respond to audit findings as needed

  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks

  • Contribute to the knowledge base and mentor junior team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • 5–7 years of experience in system administration, IT operations, or infrastructure support with a focus on end user technologies.

  • Deep technical expertise in Windows 10/11, macOS, and mobile platforms.    

  • Hands-on experience with Intune, Autopilot, SCCM, JAMF, or other MDM/UEM platforms.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to streamline operational tasks.

  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, and identity management concepts.

  • Solid understanding of patch management, software deployment, and endpoint security best practices.

  • Experience supporting virtual desktop environments (e.g., AVD, Citrix, VMware Horizon) is a plus.

  • Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.    

  • Experience working in mid-to- large enterprise environments or regulated industries is an advantage.

  • Applicable DOD 8140 and professional certifications

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, JAMF 200/300, ITIL Foundation, CISSP, Security + or
    similar.

  • Active SECRET clearance with eligibility for TOP SECRET/SCI

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $108,979 - $147,443. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
