Job Description

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Principal Data Scientist you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a Principal Data Scientist joining our team to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) mission to conduct oversight, monitoring, and audits of the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs data analysis, interpretation, and reporting duties. Develops rules and methodologies for data collection and analysis.
  • Works with a team to conduct analysis and present findings to our team and customer.
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to identify and create solutions to complex challenges.
  • Use critical thinking and exploratory research to understand program rules and how data can provide insights to inform decision making.
  • Incorporate business and technical processes in designing workflows across multiple applications to support program efficiency and compliance.
  • Utilize analytic skills including ability to efficiently work with and integrate large datasets to uncover patterns and trends that are meaningful to program oversight and action.


Required Skills:

  • Masters Degree and at least 8 years of related experience using technology to conduct analysis, develop models, and report findings.
  • Must have experience conducting in depth analysis of healthcare data, including prescription drug claims.
  • Experience using SQL, Python, Tableau, SAS or similar analytic and reporting tools.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
