Job Description

GDIT is looking for hands-on Tier 2 technicians in support of multiple data centers at several CONUS sites for a government Intelligence Community customer.  Ideal candidates will have a general background in supporting IT networks and hardware to include fiber and copper cabling using industry best practices, copper cable terminations, and experience with power distribution units (PDUs) in equipment racks and cabinets.  Our Tier 2 technicians will also be responsible for updating cabling and equipment data in the   customer’s data center information management (DCIM) system, Nlyte.  Experience with Nlyte or other similar DCIM tools is a plus.  Prior experience supporting commercial or government data centers is also a plus.  Candidates will be expected to support other data center operations as necessary such as with configuration management, data center management support, power/space/cooling audits, general data gathering, and access management.

As part of your role/function on the program, you will be granted privileged user access. Privileged Users are subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the significant responsibilities placed upon them. Because of these critical duties, you will be subject to additional IT system monitoring and supervisory evaluation to ensure continuous adherence to Privileged User processes and procedures.  Privileged Users are subject to a zero tolerance policy for security violations.

Must possess appropriate current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification for continued employment, either CompTIA Security+ OR CCNA-Security.  CompTIA Security+ is the preferred certification.  Candidates who do not possess a current IA certification may be considered, but must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Certification within six (6) months of Hire Date.

Because of the sensitive nature of the work being done for this government client, all candidates must hold a TS/SCI clearance and be willing to take and pass a CI Polygraph.
