Job Description

Engineer Senior
Lead system development projects to include design, development, and testing and troubleshooting of both hardware and software. Develop diagrams, drawings, and procedures for task assignment to subordinates. Develop, maintain and troubleshoot digital data acquisition and recording systems. Develop software for instrument control.

Candidate should demonstrate they have a working knowledge of Windows, Linux and HPUX operating systems and software development in C/C#/C++, Java, Unix/Unix scripts, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Visual Basic and database programming. Instrument control via GPIB, VXI, MXI, RS232, TCP/IP.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science
● Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
● Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
● Required Skills and Abilities:

Experience with data telemetry techniques, high speed network topologies, and modern data storage systems such as SAN and NAS technologies using iSCSI or Fiber Channel connectivity.

Proficiency in Systems Administration for both Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux systems operating systems.  Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Red Hat Linux preferred.  Experience with installation, patching and troubleshooting both Linux and Windows platforms.

Experience with TCP/IP networking design to include internal subnet design, as well as configuring network switches and routers for internal network.

Experience with database administration, mostly Microsoft SQL Server.

Experience troubleshooting entire systems (i.e. data acquisition systems).

● Preferred Skills: Experience with Digital Signal Processing techniques to include digitizing acoustic data, along with performing Fast Fourier Transforms, apply calibration transfer functions, filtering, decimation, narrowband and One Third Octave analysis.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $72,176 - $83,950. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
